ISDN Settings

The TCP/IP settings for VOLstate Internet can be found in the following locations:

For Windows95/98/ME:

Click Start, Click Settings, Click Control Panel, Click Network

 

When the Network window opens scroll down the list until you see TCP/IP -> (your ethernet card here)

Click on it once to highlight it, and click Properties

When the TCP/IP Properties window opens, it will be on the IP Address Tab

*Note* The following setup assumes you are using either a Netgear RT328/338 or RH340/348 Router.

Set the bullet to Specify an IP address
The Range of IP's is between 192.168.0.2-192.168.0.255 each machine will get it's own IP address.
(192.168.0.1 is the IP address of the routers listed above)

The Subnet is 255.255.255.0

Next Click on the Gateway Tab

As mentioned before, the Router(RT328/338, RH240/348) has an IP address of 192.168.0.1

This address is the gateway address.
Enter it here and click Add

Next is the DNS Configuration

Set the bullet to Enable DNS

The Host can be whatever you wish, we recommend PPP.
The Domain is volstate.net

The VOLstate DNS servers are:
66.129.16.200
66.129.16.201
Enter the first and click Add, then enter the second and click Add.
*Note* if any other numbers are entered, select them one at a time and click Remove

Click OK and Click OK again to exit the window.. You will be prompted to restart 

For Windows 2000:

Click Start, Click Settings.. Click Network and Dial-up Connections 
Right click the Local Area Connection you wish to make changes to and click Properties
Click on Box in front of Show Icon in taskbar when connected and then click on Internet Protocol TCP/IP and click Properties

Click the dot in front of Use the Following IP Address and enter the following:

IP Address: 192.168.0.2
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1

Below the IP addressing is the DNS server information enter the following:

Primary DNS Server: 66.129.16.200
Second DNS Server: 66.129.16.201

Click OK and then click Close on the previous window to set the information 

For Windows XP:

Click on Start then click Control Panel 
If not already in classic view for Control Panel click on Switch to Classic View then click on Network Connections
Right click the Local Area Connection you wish to make changes to and click Properties
Click on Box in front of Show Icon in taskbar when connected and then click on Internet Protocol TCP/IP and click Properties

Click the dot in front of Use the Following IP Address and enter the following:

IP Address: 192.168.0.2
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1

Below the IP addressing is the DNS server information enter the following:

Primary DNS Server: 66.129.16.200
Second DNS Server: 66.129.16.201
