Click Start, then click Settings, then click Control Panel

When Control Panel opens, click on Internet Options

Click on I want to set up my Internet connection manually, or I want to connect through a local area network. Click Next

Be sure that I connect through a phone line and a modem is selected. Click Next

Remove the check from Dial using the area code and country code

For the Phone number enter the number from the VOLstate Dial-up List that is a local phone call for you. Click Next

Enter your VOLstate username and password (add @volstate.net to your username; ie johndoe@volstate.net) Click Next

Type: VOLstate Internet for the Connection name Click Next

Click beside Yes to create an Internet Mail account Click Next

If you already have an existing email account, Click the Circle in front of Create a new Internet mail account Click Next

Type in your name (ie John Doe). Click Next

Type in your username followed by @volstate.net ie.(johndoe@volstate.net) Click Next

Type in the mail servers for VOLstate (Both the Incoming and Outgoing mail servers are the same) mail.volstate.net for both Click Next

If your username is not displayed on the Account Name line already type your username and then your password as you did earlier (these are the same as your sign-on information without @volstate.net after it) Click Next

Click Finish to close the installation and connect to the internet

note: If you do not want to connect to the internet immediately simply remove the check beside To connect to the internet immediately, select this box and then click Finish.
